03/19/09 - Village Elects Two Trustees and Police Justice
The Village of Akron held its biennial election yesterday, March 18, 2009 to elect two Village Trustees and a Village Justice. There were three candidates who were seeking the two Village Trustee seats and one candidate seeking the Village Justice seat.
Incumbent Trustee E. Peter Forrestel, II was re-elected to his fourth term as Trustee and newcomer Brian D. Wittlinger was elected to the other Trustee position. Trustee William P. Kaufman, after 4 years on the Village Board did not seek re-election. Village Justice Dennis R. Freeman ran unopposed and was re-elected.
The voting results are as follows:

A total of 253 voters of the 1,956 registered voters in the Village of Akron (12.9%) turned out to cast ballots in the election.
The newly elected officials will be sworn into office on Monday, April 6, 2009.
