The Village of Akron, in efforts to encourage further recycling from its residents, will provide a new free recycling container to all participants in the Village of Akron Refuse Program. Each unit that participates in the program will receive a free container. The containers will be made available starting on Wednesday, September 1, 2005 at the Akron Village Hall at 21 Main Street, Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM., in conjunction with the September 1, 2005 refuse billing.
Residents may use the new containers along with their existing one. “By offering these additional containers, the Village hopes to encourage their refuse participants to continue and expand their recycling efforts and help reduce the waste that would ordinarily end up in a landfill.”
With each container distributed will include a copy of the Village of Akron’s most recent Solid Waste Service Brochure “What Do I Do With My Trash?”.
