February 5, 2007

RE: Historic Preservation Informational Meeting

Dear Town of Clarence Taxpayer,

The Historical Preservation Committee is holding an informational meeting on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium, One Town Place, Clarence, NY 14031 to discuss the latest efforts at drafting a historical preservation ordinance for the Town. Over the past year the Town Board has retained the local firm of Clinton Brown Architecture Co. to conduct a historical resource survey of all the properties in Town that were built prior to 1950. They have identified 51 properties that contribute significantly to the Town's historic fabric and an additional 650 properties that have architecturally historic attributes.

The informational meeting will include officials from the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation as well as local representatives of the Historical Preservation Committee to provide details of the proposed legislation. If you have any questions regarding this notice, please call the Planning & Zoning Office at 741-8933. Copies of the draft Historical Preservation Law are available through the Town's Website: http://www.clarence.ny.us/ or in the Town Clerk's Office.
