Meals on Wheels Information
I. WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR MEALS ON WHEELS?
- Elderly (age 60 or over), who have no help on a consistent basis.
- Physically unable to shop/or prepare meals due to severe illness or disability, or
- Mentally incapable of providing nutritional needs (confused, forgetful).
- Homebound - i.e., unable to leave home without assistance.
- Have no-one available who is able and willing to provide meals - i.e., family member, aide companion.
- Persons under the age of 60 who are severely physically handicapped or terminally ill. (The Number of participants under the age of 60 is limited, based on funding.)
- Must reside within established delivery area and have available facility for refrigerating food.
