Audit Finds Some Issues Associated with Employee Time-Keeping
Overall 'Clean' Audit
Erie County Comptroller Mark C. Poloncarz today released an audit of Erie County's Department of Mental Health ("Mental Health") controls over employee data, whether Mental Health was in compliance with County policies and procedures, and whether adequate internal controls exist over selected payroll transactions and activities for the period January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2008.
The Audit found that during the audit period internal controls in place were adequate to ensure that employees were properly paid for the time actually worked and that, with exception of a few minor errors, employees were not paid more than entitled.
The Audit found that some deficiencies exist in internal controls, including the following findings:
The Comptroller noted that Mental Health has already initiated corrective measures to address the Audit's findings.
