April 30th is Final Business Day For Downtown Auto Bureau at 77 Broadway

10am Ribbon Cutting Marks New Era of Service in North Towns

Closed Friday, May 1 for Move to Rath Building

The final day for Auto Bureau services at 77 Broadway will be Thursday April 30th from 8:30am-4:15pm. The Downtown location will be closed on Friday May 1st as equipment is moved to the new location on the first floor of the Rath Building. Service will be available on Friday, May 1 at all of the other Auto Bureau locations in Cheektowaga, Evans, City of Tonawanda, Town of Tonawanda, Erie Community College South Campus and at Eastern Hills Mall. For a list of hours and exact addresses log on to www.erie.gov/clerk or phone our call center at 858-7450.

The Rath building site is expected to open on Monday May 4th, with customer-friendly amenities including a state-of-the-art ticketing system, comfortable seating and children's play area.

Erie County Clerk Kathy Hochul said the move makes sense on a number of fronts. "We will save Erie County taxpayers over a million dollars in lease and other expenses by moving into "free" government space. This returns us to the business/government corridor, closer to the former site at 25 Delaware which had housed the Auto Bureau for decades before the Court renovation project necessitated a temporary relocation. This beautiful new facility will make the Auto Bureau experience a much more comfortable and pleasant one for our customers," said Hochul.
