Erie County Legislature Approves Erie County Clerk's Plan to Provide Public Service Information and Advertising at Auto Bureaus to Generate New Revenues for County Taxpayers

Erie County Clerk Kathy Hochul thanked the Erie County Legislature for approving her proposal to provide public service information and advertising on television monitors at the Erie County Auto Bureaus. "This is a creative opportunity to enhance the experience for our Auto Bureau customers and generate new revenue for the County. The informational and entertainment value coupled with the new state-of-the art ticketing system, comfortable seating now at the majority of auto bureaus, is part of our ongoing commitment to change the image of the Auto Bureaus – one amenity at a time," said Hochul. The new message systems will be offered at the auto bureaus located in the new Rath Building, Cheektowaga, Eastern Hills Mall and Erie Community College South.

Ms. Hochul thanked Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams, Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, Chairwoman Lynn Marinelli and all the Members of the Erie County Legislature for their overwhelming bi-partisan support of this initiative. "This endeavor represents an example of collaboration between Government and the private sector to generate revenue and improve the delivery of services to the citizens of Erie County," said Hochul. Legislator Miller-Williams (D-Buffalo 3rd District) stated, "The information and advertising shown will not only enhance the image of the bureaus, it provides revenue without incurring costs for the taxpayers."

After following established Erie County Procedures for selection of a qualified vendor, Metrodata Services, Inc. was awarded the contract.
