Erie County Clerk Proposes Expansion of Auto Bureau Satellites to ECC South Campus
ECC Trustees Approve Clerk's Plan at November 28 Meeting
Today, the Erie Community College Trustees approved a plan proposed by Erie County Clerk Kathy Hochul to bring auto bureau services to the ECC South Campus. Hochul said that once build-out funding included in the 2008 budget is approved by the County Legislature, she will be ready to begin renovation of space within the former Work Force Development building. The new facility would hopefully open to the public in early Spring.
Hochul said that the Southtowns are underserved and that the satellite in West Seneca is overcrowded. She hopes that the ECC South location will take pressure off the other satellites and says the expansion of services will result in additional revenues for the County.
" I commend the ECC Board of Trustees' Chairman Ray Gallagher, the Trustees and the ECC Administration for partnering with us to offer services on the South Campus, building on the success we've had with the ECC North satellite in Amherst," said Hochul.
Hochul also noted that the employees, faculty and students of the ECC North location frequently compliment that operation for its convenience and believes that a satellite at the ECC South Campus in Orchard Park, near Hamburg, would be equally popular. "This will be extremely beneficial for the residents of Orchard Park, Boston, East Aurora, West Seneca and Hamburg, as well as for the students," said Hochul.
The ECC South satellite would be open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
