How do I apply for Food Stamps?
To apply for Food Stamps, you must complete and submit an application. Application packets may be requested by phone by calling [716] 858-8000, or by clicking on the link below, or requested in person at our office located at the:

- You must provide your name, and address [if any], and you must sign the application before submitting it. Please include your telephone number and answer all questions as completely as possible.
- You may submit your Food Stamp application in person, by mail, or by fax. Once it is received, you will be scheduled for an interview and an appointment notice will be sent to you by mail.
- You must be interviewed for food stamps. If appearing for an in-person interview would be a hardship for your household, you may request a telephone interview. If some one in your household is working at least 30 hours per week, or if two people in the household are working at least 20 hours per week you automatically qualify for a telephone interview. You will not need to come to our office and finger imaging will be waived. If you qualify for expedited service you may be interviewed on the same day you submit your application. As part of the eligibility process, you will be asked to provide certain verification documents.
- Once an eligibility decision is made, applicants are notified by mail regarding their Food Stamp eligibility and benefits.
