Regular & Emergency HEAP

These maximum income totals listed on the table to the left represent gross, monthly household income for the regular benefits and emergency benefits.

If client should have received an application with the early mail out but did not, they may call the HEAP at 858-1969 for application to be mail to your residence.

METHODS OF APPLYING

For the 2009-2010 HEAP season, Erie County is able to provide multiple ways to apply for assistance for Erie County residents with utility service.
The following information is for individuals who would like to gain access to the Home Energy Assistance Program.

The following information is for individuals who currently receive Temporary [Public] Assistance or Food Stamps and are considering applying for HEAP benefits. Your household may come in person to complete a one page application and provide a current utility bill for assistance with your primary source of heat. Please be aware, an early outreach mailing of applications for Regular HEAP assistance was conducted by the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance to all households that received HEAP assistance during the 2008-09 season, in which the head of household is receiving Temporary Assistance or Food Stamps prior to September 12th, 2009 the household will receive a regular HEAP benefit.
