Erie County Hazmat Team
Playing Golf in Level "A"

The Erie County Hazardous Materials Response Team visited the Island Fun Center, 2660 Grand Island Blvd. on Grand Island on Saturday, June 15th for an unusual and very visual training exercise.

In order to test the dexterity of the Entry Team, and endurance as well, members of the team played miniature golf to practice dexterity while wearing their bulky Level "A" suits. There were no Hole in One,s but the team performed extremely well and a morning of work was actually fun. There were four teams of two members each and they played five holes of golf, came off the course for an air bottle change and then back for five more holes. It was then on to Decon for the process of Decontamination. The Island Fun Center owned by Kevin Judge donated the valuable time and facility for this important exercise.
