Is your School or Day Care Prepared and Ready?

• Does your school have a disaster plan?
• Do parents know what the plan is and how to locate their children in the event of evacuation?
• Do your students have the skill and knowledge they need to prepare for, recognize and recover from a disaster in their home, school or community?
• Are your teachers and administrators familiar with how children in different age groups respond to emergency and disaster situations, and do they know how to deal with those reactions?
• Does your school conduct regular fire drills?
• Is your school prepared to shelter in place?
• Does your school have a defibrillator?
• Are teachers and administrators trained in basic first aid and CPR?
