Health Advisory #30 - Undeclared Peanut in Chocolates - 01/29/2003
Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanuts in Witor's Golden Poker Milk Chocolate Pralines
Mayfair Sales, Inc., of Buffalo, NY is recalling 7 oz. packages of Witor's Golden Poker Milk Chocolate Pralines because they may contain undeclared peanut product. People with allergies to peanut products run the risk of serious life threatening reactions if they consume these products. The Pralines were distributed in Western New York, Central New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
Routine sampling by NYS Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors revealed the presence of peanuts, which were not declared on the label.
Consumers who have purchased this product are encouraged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Questions regarding this matter may be addressed to Mayfair Sales, Inc., at 1-800-248-2881, attention Paul Zak.
