VOLELYBALL REGISTRATION SET
Registration for Lancaster Parks and Recreation 2012-13 men’s, women’s, and coed winter volleyball leagues has been announced.
Registration for the leagues will run from Monday September 17th to Friday September 21st, 2012 at the Recreation Office at 525 Pavement Rd. Office hours are daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with late hours on Mondays and Thursdays till 7:00 pm.
Teams from the 2011-2012 season will be contacted by mail. As always, we are looking for new teams in all divisions.

Town of Lancaster Recreation Offers Water Aerobics
The Town of Lancaster Recreation Department will once again offer Adult
Water Aerobics to all Town of Lancaster and Lancaster School District residents 18
years and older. The program will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from
4:45pm – 5:45pm at the William Street School pool beginning on Tuesday,
September 25 and running until May 2, 2013.

Senior Swim
Town of Lancaster Offers Senior Swim
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will offer a Senior
Citizens Swim which will be held at the Lancaster High School pool. This program
will begin on Saturday, October 6, 2012 and run through May 4, 2013 from 12:00
p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Senior Citizens 60 years and older who resided in the Town of
Lancaster or the Lancaster School District are eligible to participate. You must have
a Senior Citizens ID card or if you are a Lancaster School District resident, you must
show your license.

Press-Release Family Swim Program
Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation to Offer Family Swim
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will once again offer
Family Swim on Friday evenings beginning Friday, September 28, 2012 and ending
on Friday, May 10, 2013. The program runs from 7:30pm – 9:30pm. at the
Lancaster High School Pool located at 1 Forton Drive.
This is a recreational swim for families. A lane marker is installed for those
family members who wish to do laps. Water basketball, fins, noodles, kickboards
and balls are available.
Families may sign up in the pool area on Friday, September 28 and
thereafter. You must be a Town of Lancaster resident or a Lancaster School District
resident to participate in the program. For more information, call the Recreation

Basketball Program beginning Monday, September 24 at the Lancaster Middle

Santa at Westwood
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will once
again sponsor Santa at Westwood. This event will take place on
Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 1pm-3pm at the Westwood Park
Pavilion.
Santa will arrive by fire truck and read a story to the children.
There will be hayrides (weather permitting), letter writing to Santa,
make and take an ornament, face painting and refreshments.

PHONE ONLY PICNIC RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR LANCASTER PARKS
The Town of Lancaster Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department will
begin accepting picnic reservations for the 2013 picnic season on Monday,
February 4 at 8:00am. Reservations are restricted to Town of Lancaster
residents and are by phone only. There is a limit of one reservation per person.
The picnic shelters are located at Keysa Town Park, Meadow Lea Park,
Walden Pond Park and Westwood Park.

begins hiring for summer of 2013
The Town of Lancaster Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department is now accepting applications for the summer of 2013. Summer positions for lifeguards, playground attendants, tennis instructors and maintenance personnel are available. Applicants must be a resident of the Town of Lancaster, eighteen years of age and a high school graduate (with the exception of lifeguard applicants who must be 16 years of age or older).
The application deadline is Friday, March 8, 2013. Applications are available at Town Hall, 21 Central Avenue and the Recreation Department, 525 Pavement Road, Lancaster.

Town of Lancaster Recreation Offers “Beat the Winter Blues”
The Town of Lancaster Recreation Department will once again offer “Beat
the Winter Blues”. This event will be held on Saturday morning, March 2 from
9:00am – 11:00am. at Westwood Park Pavilion. Beat the Winter Blues is a part of
Lancaster- Depew Family Asset Building Month.
Come in your pajamas or something comfortable and enjoy a fun filled
Saturday morning around the fireplace playing family board games. Please bring
your favorite games!
