Legislator Kennedy Chooses South Park For District Office

Legislator Timothy M. Kennedy (D-South Buffalo) has established his district office on South Park Avenue and it is now open to the public. The chosen location represents an initial step in focusing on revitalizing the route and generating business development to the area. Kennedy has opened his district office to the public, starting the first of many connections to South Park Avenue.

Legislator Kennedy envisions a wonderful and prosperous future for the business strip with a storied history. "We have an opportunity to work together to establish South Park Avenue as one of the foremost business districts in not only the City of Buffalo, but the entire region!" Kennedy stated, "With Our Lady of Victory Basilica as a backdrop, South Park business are already prospering from the heavy traffic on the strip. In the near future, when Father Nelson Baker is canonized a Saint, it will only increase the traffic flow and business potential on South Park Avenue. South Buffalo has an opportunity to prepare ourselves for that great day and days to follow!"

Kennedy is currently rallying business owners to form a coalition to work together to promote ideas for economic growth. Kennedy plans to draw new businesses to South Park Avenue, which will create new jobs and improve the overall feel of the street. Through the coalition, and in a combined effort with the already established Greater South Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, Kennedy plans to provide education to local business owners. Business owners will learn about various resources they can apply for to help their business, such as, various tax credits and loans.

"Educating business owners of possible incentives will help them secure resources to improve their businesses if they so desire." Kennedy said, "With extra money they will have the ability to hire more employees, fix up their storefronts and buildings or expand for more business. There is money out there that business owners might not be informed they are eligible for. Through the coalition we can educate them about and connect them with these services."

Kennedy plans to have the group meet on a monthly basis to address the needs and concerns of the business owners on South Park Avenue and throughout South Buffalo. All meeting are open to the public and local South Buffalo business owners are encouraged to attend. The next meeting date and time to be announced.

Legislator Kennedy's office is located at 1928 South Park Avenue. His phone number is 824-6180 and his fax number is 825-9484. Kennedy's mailing address is P.O.Box 73, Buffalo, NY. 14220.
