HEAP Outreach Locations/Applications Available At Legislator Kennedy’s Office

Now that winter has finally shown up, Legislator Tim Kennedy reminds us of the Heat and Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). Applications are currently available in his office at 1928 South Park Avenue.

The Outreach Program will be visiting Legislator Kennedy’s district on March 2nd at the Valley Community Center, 93 Leddy Street, and also on March 9th at the Sloan Village Hall at 425 Reiman Street.

“These types of programs are essential for the public,” Kennedy said, “Services can be confusing to people especially when you have multiple pieces of paperwork to fill out. With the help of outreach programs like these, citizens are informed of eligibility and aided in the process of applying.”

The program assists citizens with their applications. The Outreach program also provides additional services, such as, complimentary ID cards for senior citizens and blood pressure screening for all adults. Services may vary depending on the Outreach location’s size.

HEAP Outreach hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Interviews are conducted on a first come, first serve basis. The first 90 citizens to sign in will be interviewed for HEAP. If you need more information, please contact the Erie County Department of Senior Services HEAP hotline at 858-7870.

Legislator Tim Kennedy represents the 2nd District of South Buffalo, The Old 1st Ward, The Valley, Sloan, Kaisertown, Seneca-Babcock, Clinton-Bailey, South Cheektowaga and East Lovejoy.
