Legislator Kennedy Announces Computers and Electronics Recycling Day

Legislator Tim Kennedy announces that on April 26th, 2008, a computers and electronics recycling day will be held at the Central Park Plaza from 9:00 AM till 1:00 PM. The Central Park Plaza is located near East Amherst Street, and is off Holden Street between Main Street and Bailey Avenue.

During the hours of operation, a wide variety of computer related items and electronics will be accepted. These items include computers, cell phones, CRT's or monitors, rechargeable batteries, keyboards, mice, VCRs, printers, scanners, DVD players, fluorescent bulbs and televisions. It is important to note that all participants will be required to verify that materials to be recycled are generated by households.

According to Legislator Kennedy, "programs like these are designed to protect the environment and service the taxpayers." Kennedy went on to say that, "hopefully, some of the electronics and computers can be reused, and even given to those in Erie County who are less fortunate."

This recycling day event is sponsored by the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning, the City of Buffalo and Mayor Byron Brown, the United States EPA and Keep Western New York Beautiful. For more information regarding this event, please contact 858-6996 or visit www.erie.gov. Also, feel free to contact Legislator Tim Kennedy's office by calling 824-6180.
