Kennedy Initiates Petition Drive To Advance Legislation
Erie County Legislator Tim Kennedy has initiated a petition drive to advance legislation currently being voted on in Erie County, the City of Buffalo and New York State.
“The petitions that will be presented to various government leaders will go to demonstrate this community’s strength and support of this important issue,” Kennedy said, “This legislation must be passed in order to make our streets safer for our children.”
Kennedy stated that by signing and circulating these petitions, concerned citizens can play an intricate role in helping to drive the legislation forward, creating a neighborhood notification system that will increase awareness of the location of sex offenders among all residents of the City of Buffalo. This notification system being called for is in response to Legislator Kennedy uncovering the fact that the current sex offender notification system being implemented in the suburban school districts is not being in the City of Buffalo.
If you are interested in participating in this process you may pick up petitions at Legislator Kennedy district office at 1928 South Park Avenue, Buffalo, NY. 14220. Any questions please contact his office at 824-6180.
