LEGISLATOR KENNEDY ANNOUNCES HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION DAY
Legislator Timothy M. Kennedy announces a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 18th, at the Erie Community College South Campus located in Orchard Park. This event is co-sponsored by the Northeast Southtowns Solid Waste Management Board (NEST).
Acceptable items for free, proper disposal are oil based paints, pesticides, solvents, gasolines, motor oil and anti-freeze, lead acid and rechargeable batteries, propane tanks and cylinders, and mercury (thermometers).
All County residents are encouraged to participate No commercial or industrial hazardous waste will be accepted. Restrictions may apply and participants may be required to certify that wastes are generated by households.
