Legislator Kennedy to Sponsor Youth and Young Adult Job Fair

Legislator Tim Kennedy in cooperation with Maureen Krause and the Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Development Consortium's Youth Services Program are sponsoring a youth and young adult job fair on Sunday June 14, 2009, from 1-4pm, at the South Buffalo Irish Center located on 245 Abbott Road, Buffalo, NY 14220.

The Youth Services Program works out of the ECC One-Stop Center, located at 3176 Abbott Road in Orchard Park, and they will offer general information, applications, and interviews for future employees. The youths must be between the ages of 14-21 to apply. They also need to be income eligible or they must have an Individual Education Program (IEP).

President Obama's stimulus plan has given us an opportunity to open up these employment opportunities for youths. This informational session will allow the youth of the greater South Buffalo community and Western New York to find out where the jobs are, how to apply, and when they are available.

"I applaud Maureen Krause and the Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Development Consortium's Youth Services Program for continuing their efforts to reach out to the youth of the community on a grassroots level," Legislator Kennedy stated. He added, "I am proud to partner with this agency and be able to play a role in creating opportunities for youths in these times."
