COUNTY LEGISLATOR MILLER-WILLIAMS ANNOUNCES 100 MIGHTY MEN MINISTRIES TRIP TO DARIEN LAKE AUGUST 11
Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams (D-Buffalo) is announcing that the 100 Mighty Men Ministries is inviting the Frederick Douglass Children to a trip to Darien Lake Saturday, August 11.
The cost of the trip, cosponsored by Legislator Miller-Williams, is $20, including transportation and refreshments, and the group will depart from 160 Jefferson Avenue at 11:30 a.m. and return at about 11 p.m. Parental permission slips and payment must be made no later than Thursday, August 9, with no exceptions, and no children under age 12 without a guardian will be allowed. Adult supervision will be provided for the trip.
There is a 60-seat capacity, and registration will be first-come, first-served, and for more information, people can contact the 100 Mighty Men Ministries through Brother Edward Wiley, president, at 605-8498 or Brother Rudolphus Boans Jr., vice president, at 605-9050.
The 100 Mighty Men has conducted cookouts and other activities to help stabilize neighborhoods on the East Side of Buffalo, including by disseminating a peaceful message and through encouraging East Side residents to join efforts to clean up the area. Among the areas the group has helped clean up since starting their efforts May 30 are Rawlins Street between Goodyear Avenue and Genesee Street, Alma Avenue between Bailey Avenue and Suffolk Street and East Ferry Avenue between Jefferson Avenue and Laurel Street.
