COUNTY LEGISLATOR MILLER-WILLIAMS APPOINTED TO LEGISLATURE FINANCE, MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET COMMITTEE

Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams (D-Buffalo/3rd District) was recently appointed to the Legislature's Finance, Management and Budget Committee by County Legislature Chair Lynn M. Marinelli (D-Buffalo, Tonawanda).

Legislator Miller-Williams will join Committee Chairman Legislator Robert B. Reynolds Jr., Legislator Kathy Konst and Legislature Chair Marinelli as the Democrats on the committee, according to the Rules of the Legislature.

"I am pleased to accept this extremely important appointment to the Finance, Management and Budget Committee as we enter the budget deliberation season," Legislator Miller-Williams said. "The County Legislature will receive the budget proposal from the County Executive on or before October 15, and we have until December 4 to approve a final 2008 Erie County budget. This is a crucial time for the county's finances, and I will help make sure that we spend county funds where necessary and in as efficient a manner as possible."
