COUNTY LEGISLATOR MILLER-WILLIAMS ANNOUNCES HEAP SESSIONS SLATED IN 3rd DISTRICT IN DECEMBER, JANUARY

Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams (D-Buffalo) is announcing that four Heating Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) sessions will be held in the 3rd District she represents in December and January.

The HEAP sessions will be held: from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, December 11, at the Delavan Grider Community Center, 877 East Delavan Avenue in Buffalo; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at the Schiller Park Community Center, 2057 Genesee Street in Buffalo; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the Pratt Willert Community Center, 422 Pratt Street in Buffalo; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at the Citizens’ Community Development Center, 134 William Street in Buffalo.

Interviews will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. All prospective clientele are welcome to apply for HEAP assistance at
outreach sites, regardless of age or disability. The first 80 clients to sign in are guaranteed service. General HEAP applicants should bring proof of income, proof of number of residents in household, proof of address, a current gas bill, and first-time applicants do not need a final disconnection notice. Emergency HEAP applicants should bring proof of income, proof of number of residents in household, proof of address, a current gas bill, a utility shut-off notice, and checking and savings account information. Emergency HEAP applicants must have a final disconnection notice.
