RANZENHOFER ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY MEETING REGARDING LAPP ROAD
Erie County Legislator Michael H. Ranzenhofer (R-Clarence) announced today that he will sponsor a community meeting to discuss the replacement of two bridges on Lapp Road on Tuesday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Clarence Library, 3 Town Place, Clarence. Representatives from the Erie County Department of Public Works will attend.
"Lapp Road is an important route through the Town of Clarence for many residents," said Ranzenhofer, who serves on the Legislature's Economic Development Committee. "I feel that it is always important that we take the opportunity to keep residents informed of what infrastructure improvements will be taking place in the community, and to hear their views on upcoming projects."
The objective of this informational meeting is to solicit comments and concerns regarding the proposed project's effect on the community and to answer questions posed by the public. The planned improvements include removal and replacement of the existing bridges and the reconstruction of a short section of roadway on either side of each bridge that must be disturbed to accommodate the bridge construction.
The replacement bridges will be constructed on essentially the same horizontal and vertical alignments as currently exist. It is anticipated that both bridges will be constructed at the same time with access for local traffic being maintained and through traffic being detoured around the construction.
