Erie County Legislator Michael H. Ranzenhofer (R-Clarence) recently visited the Clarence Youth Center to inspect the Center's new computer systems. Ranzenhofer had secured $5,000 for the purchase of several new computers, adding to those purchased last year.
"It always brings me great joy and a sense of accomplishment when I have the opportunity to work with John D'Amico and the great young people here at the Clarence Youth Center," said Ranzenhofer. "This facility does so many great things for kids in our community. I'm always pleased to support their efforts."
D'Amico, Clarence Youth Center Director, pointed out that the funding is being used for the completion of the Center's computer lab. The lab offers accessibility for members to word processing programs and the Internet, as well as computer instructional programs and various entertainment resources.
"In today's age, it has become necessary to know how to use computers for school, work and so many other aspects in life," added Ranzenhofer. "The availability of these new computers for the kids at the Clarence Youth Center will give them an edge in life that can not be taken for granted."
The Clarence Youth Center is located at 9110 Sheridan Drive. The Center provides programming Tuesday through Saturday evenings, as well as supervised independent activity. More information is available at www.clarenceyouthcenter.com, or by calling 632-4406.
