RANZENHOFER ANNOUNCES COMPOSTING PROGRAM
Erie County Legislator Michael H. Ranzenhofer (R-Clarence) along with Erie County Environmental Services recently announced that backyard compost bins will be for sale for $35 on Saturday April 24, 2004 from 8 am to 4 pm. Residents can purchase "The Earth Machine" in the front parking lot of JC Penney / Kaufmann's at the Boulevard Mall, 730 Alberta Drive, or at Tops Friendly Market, 7660 Transit Road, in the Town of Amherst.
"Composting is easy and now, thanks to this program, affordable," said Legislator Ranzenhofer. "Homeowners in Erie County can purchase 'The Earth Machine' for less than half the retail price. This is a great opportunity to dispose of organic waste in an environmentally friendly manner."
Legislator Ranzenhofer noted that "The Earth Machine" is manufactured by Norseman Plastics, and is North America's best selling backyard composter. The unit is made entirely of recycled plastics, is lightweight and durable, and features a capacity of 80 gallons. "The Earth Machine" typically retails for more than $80, but will be available to Erie County Residents for $35 (plus tax). This offer is good for only one day and while supplies last.
