RANZENHOFER ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR GREINER ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
Erie County Legislator Michael H. Ranzenhofer (R-Clarence) announced that the Erie County Legislature has approved funding for intersection improvements at Greiner and Shimerville Roads.
"As your legislator, I am committed to securing funds to improve our roads and bridges for the safety of motorists, passengers and pedestrians," said Ranzenhofer. "Although the final work on this important project is a while off, it is good to begin the process by designating the funding for design and engineering."
Ranzenhofer pointed out that the funding approved will cover the first step of the project, the preliminary engineering design. Eighty percent (80%) of the project's cost will be Federally-funded.
"We are consistently looking for ways to improve traffic safety each year," added Ranzenhofer. "Obtaining this Federal funding for improvements to our highway system is an important first step in the process of making sure that our roadways are safe for motorists."
The county bidding process for contractors will take place in 2005, with work expected to commence late next year, Ranzenhofer pointed out.
