ERIE COUNTY LEGISLATURE'S MINORITY CAUCUS COMMENTS ON 2010 PROPOSED BUDGET
(Buffalo, NY) - Erie County Legislators John J. Mills (13th District), Edward A. Rath III (15th District) and Raymond W. Walter (4th District) commented on the proposed 2010 Erie County Budget released today by County Executive Chris Collins. "I am happy that the County Executive submitted a budget without any tax rate increases. During these difficult economic times, it is imperative that we do not further burden the taxpayers of Erie County," stated Legislator Mills.
"I applaud the County Executive for continuing to implement private business sector practices in government to save taxpayers money. In particular, I commend his move to shift clinical services to Sheehan Health Network, a not-for-profit that is well qualified to provide these services. These savings will allow us to make critical investments in our county's infrastructure, including roads and bridges that have been neglected in the past," added Legislator Rath.
"As a member of the Budget Committee, I look forward to reviewing the budget and learning more about it through the committee hearing process that will occur over the next two months. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with County Executive Collins to give Erie County taxpayers the best budget for their tax dollars," commented Legislator Walter.
