Ranzenhofer supports relocation of downtown auto bureau

A RESOLUTION SUBMITTED BY
LEGISLATORS RANZENHOFER, MILLS, & WEINSTEIN

RE: Support for relocation of the downtown auto bureau into the Rath Building

WHEREAS, The downtown auto bureau, currently operating at 77 Broadway in the City of Buffalo, has annual lease expenditure of approximately $175,000; and

WHEREAS, this lease is scheduled to expire in April of 2008 and the County has no current plan for relocating the auto bureau; and

WHEREAS, the County of Erie is currently conducting a space usage study that will examine county owned properties, county offices, available space, and needed space and offer a recommendation on a plan that accommodates department needs while maintaining efficient operations in the most affordable manner; and

WHEREAS, the Office of the Erie County Clerk has asked to be included in the space study and was specifically looking for a new place to house their downtown auto bureau operation; and

WHEREAS, In a letter dated June 29, 2007, Erie County Clerk Kathy C. Hochul states that the first floor of the Rath Building is suitable for housing the downtown auto bureau operation; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED, that this honorable body supports the decision to relocate the downtown auto bureau into the first floor of the Rath Building, and be it further

RESOLVED, that this honorable body requests the support of the administration in advancing this project in a timely manner.
