COUNTY LEGISLATOR WHYTE TO HOST HEAP OUTREACH SESSION AT CONCERNED ECUMENICAL MINISTRY SITE MARCH 26

Erie County Legislator Maria R. Whyte (D-Buffalo, 6th District) is announcing that she will sponsor a HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) Outreach from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Concerned Ecumenical Ministry office, 286 Lafayette Street in Buffalo.

Sign up of HEAP applicants begins at 8 a.m., and service will be guaranteed to the first 80 applicants who sign in at the outreach program. All prospective outreach clientele are interviewed regardless of age or disability, and the interviews will start at 9 a.m.

Applicants should be prepared to present the following documents: one form of identification for all household members (birth certificates, driver's licenses, Social Security cards); proof of income received within the last 30 days for all household members (pay stubs, Social Security or pension award letters, proof of child support, rental income, unemployment benefits, workers' compensation); current shut-off notices, if applicable; proof of all household resources, including current checking and savings account bank statements, proof of other resources (stocks, bonds, IRAs, 401k). If an applicant is missing information, they may be allowed to mail the information to the HEAP office to complete the application process.
