LEGISLATORS MILLER-WILLIAMS, GRANT ANNOUNCE NEW CONVENTION, VISITORS BUREAU AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE GUIDE

Erie County Legislators Barbara Miller-Williams (D-Buffalo/3rd District) and Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo/7th District) are announcing that the Buffalo Niagara Convention and Visitors Bureau has recently produced and released the second edition of its Buffalo Niagara African American Heritage Guide.

The guide, produced through the support of M&T Bank, has been both expanded and enhanced with a section called "My Buffalo," comprised of testimonials and informational sections on the just-opened Nash House Museum and the Freedom Crossing Underground Interpretive Center at Niagara University.

"The Convention and Visitors Bureau plans to use the guide to promote this important and fascinating part of the history of Buffalo and Western New York to residents, tourists and convention attendees," Legislator Miller-Williams said. "This can be used as a tool to not only attract new visitors, conventions and tours, but to inform previous and frequent visitors of areas of interest to visit."

"I am pleased that the guide will be widely distributed across Buffalo and Western New York, including to group tour operators, convention and meeting planners, houses of worship, libraries, community centers and at the Convention and Visitors Bureau's visitor center in the Market Arcade in downtown Buffalo," Legislator Grant said.

For more information, people can contact the office of Legislator Miller-Williams at 842-0490 or Legislator Grant at 894-0914, or the Convention and Visitors Bureau at 852-0511.
