COUNTY LEGISLATOR GRANT, REVEREND PRIDGEN INITIATE PETITION DRIVE AGAINST NFTA FAIR HIKE PROPOSAL

Erie County Legislator Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo, 7th District) and Rev. Darius G. Pridgen of True Bethel Baptist Church have initiated a petition drive to protest the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) proposed bus fare hike.

Thousands of individuals have signed their names to a petition. In addition, many residents and bus patrons will be at the meeting at 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 22, at the NFTA Terminal, 181 Ellicott Street on the 2nd floor.

Legislator Grant is requesting her colleagues in city, county and state governments to support this initiative by attending the meeting, carrying a petition or by calling the NFTA Commissioners to voice their support for the hardworking, low income residents and students of Western New York who simply cannot afford an increase of any amount to the current bus fare at this time.
