Erie County Legislator Lynn Marinelli (D-Tonawanda/Buffalo) recently sponsored a $20,000 Erie County grant for Kenilworth Fire District No. 2. The funding, requested by the Department, will pay for a new equipment to improve the air quality in the firehouse.

"Volunteer firefighters provide a noble service to our community," said Majority Leader Marinelli. "Residents value the services provided by these individuals and appreciate investment in this type of community based public safety resources."

The firefighters are co-funding the new exhaust system for the station which meets OSHA and other requirements to improve the health and safety of those working in the building.

Kenilworth Fire District No. 2 is located on Hawthorne Avenue.
