LEGISLATOR REYNOLDS, COUNTY LEGISLATURE DECLARE BUILDING SAFETY WEEK IN ERIE COUNTY MAY 5-11
Erie County Legislator Robert B. Reynolds Jr. (D-Hamburg, Evans) and the Erie County Legislature recently proclaimed that May 5 through May 11 be recognized as Building Safety Week in Erie County.
"We encourage everyone to consider projects to improve building safety at home and in the community," Legislator Reynolds said. "The theme 'Building Safety, where you live, work and play,' encourages all Americans to raise their awareness of the importance of building safety codes. In addition, we must look at green construction as well as sustainable codes for pools, hot tubs safety and the ever-changing new technologies in our construction industry."
Legislator Reynolds sponsored the proclamation that acknowledged the essential service provided to all people by state and local building departments. This group and their modern building codes have prevented countless fires and accidents on top of the protection provided to the public from natural disasters such as hurricanes, snowstorms, tornadoes and earthquakes.
