REYNOLDS ANNOUNCES SALES TAX DISTRIBUTION TO TOWNS AND VILLAGES

Erie County Legislator Robert B. Reynolds (D-12) announced today that the distribution of net collections from the "Erie County Sales and Compensating Use Tax" for the months of January, February and March 2008 is currently at four and three quarters (4.75%). These figures are from New York State.

Reynolds stated, "I am pleased to announce that the County continues to share revenues from our Sales Tax base. I know that the taxpayers of Erie County are frustrated that our Sales Tax is still in effect. However, I would like to show the residents that the County shares a considerable amount of these funds with our School Districts to keep the quality of education that we currently provide, as well as with the six (6) towns and four (4) villages that I represent to assist each of them with their costs. Therefore, in order t to keep the public informed on how their hard-earned tax dollars are spent, the following is the distribution for my district for the first quarter of 2008."
