REYNOLDS ANNOUNCES ERIE COUNTY SENIOR SERVICES "CONNECTS" PROGRAM COMES TO SITES
Erie County Legislator Robert B. Reynolds (D-12) announced today that the Town of Hamburg and the Town of Evans will be hosting an Erie County Senior Services "Connects" Program sites.
"On Wednesday, June 17, 2009, The Erie County Department of Senior Services is conducting an outreach program at the Town of Hamburg Senior Building, 4150 Sowles Rd., Hamburg, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and also on Tuesday, July 2, 2009 at the Evans Senior Center, 999 Sturgeon Point Rd., Derby, from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Erie County Senior "Connects" Program visits neighborhood locations, connecting residents age 60 and older and/or their caregivers with information and services available. A representative of Senior Services offers information about various assistance programs, nutrition programs, health insurance questions, care giving issues, and at every connects location, Erie County Senior Services issues their photo identification cards. This Complimentary Card is for those 65 and older (entitled to reduce Metro bus/rail fares and other vendor discounts). These outreach sites will also include a Case Manager from Erie County Senior Services and these organizations; EPIC, Diabetes Educator, Meals on Wheels, Support Services, Upstate NY Transplant Service, WNY Osteoporosis and the Wise & Wellness Program.
