2007 BASSMASTER ELITE SERIES EMPIRE CHASE A SUCCESS
Erie County Legislator Robert B. Reynolds Jr. (D-Hamburg, Lakeview) was recently thanked for his help in organizing and facilitating the success of the 2007 Bassmaster Elite Series Empire Chase.
In a letter from Buffalo Niagara Convention and Visitors Bureau officials Michael R. Even, director of convention sales and services; Charles A. Giglia, national sales manager, and Jason M. Josker, sports logistics coordinator, Legislator Reynolds was commended because "Thanks in part to your support of this event, The City of Buffalo, Town of Hamburg and our beautiful waterfront shined brightly in the national spotlight and in front of the estimated 10,000 people that were in attendance over the course of the four-day tournament."
The letter added that many visitors and participants expressed their gratitude “for the hospitality they were shown during their stay” during the fishing tournament, which will return to Erie County in 2008.
"I am gratified that Erie County and Western New York came out looking good to so many people, not just here but from around the country, during the 2007 Bassmaster Elite Series Empire Chase," Legislator Reynolds said. "We are also pleased that the hour program on ESPN2 was able to show the country how great the fishing and other recreational offerings in Hamburg, Buffalo and elsewhere are and that we can use them to promote Western New York."
