Erie County Legislator Robert B. Reynolds (D-Hamburg, Evans) announced that The John R Oishei Foundation's 2007 Annual Report is now available.
The foundation strives to be a catalyst for change to enhance the economic vitality and the quality of life for the Buffalo Niagara Region. They plan to do so by promoting stable neighborhoods, increasing economic self-sufficiency, raising industry and strengthening our regional cultural and educational assets. They also have identified several special initiatives around leadership and organizations development. In 2007, the Foundation adopted a new strategic plan and made grants of $18.9 million to approximately 127 not-for-profit organizations in the greater Buffalo area.
The Foundation is continually looking for opportunities to partner with other funders, both public and private. If you would like a complete copy of their 2007 Annual Report, please visit their website at www.oishei.org, click on Grants & Reports to download.
