John J. Mills - District 13 February 21, 2007 Minority Leader Mills named to the ECC Presidential Search Committee East Aurora, New York – Erie County Legislator John J. Mills, Legislator for the 13th District, has been named to the search committee to select the next president of Erie Community College. The vacancy was created by the resignation of the College's ninth president, William Mariani. William Reuter is currently serving as ECC's Interim President. "Erie Community College is a valuable asset to Western New York," stated Legislator Mills. "ECC's programs allow individuals to upgrade their employment skills, earn a degree or certificate or go on to a four year college. As such, it meets many different needs to a very diverse student population. The next president must be someone who will continue to strengthen ECC's academic programs while making education accessible and affordable to all of Western New York." The committee will begin meeting at the end of March. The search will continue until a suitable candidate is selected.
