Mills announces Additional Springville HEAP Outreach
East Aurora, New York – Erie County Legislator John J. Mills announced he will be sponsoring a free Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) Outreach from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at the Concord Town Hall, located at 86 Franklin Street, Springville.
"Living in Western New York there are two things that are difficult to avoid, namely winter and high energy costs. HEAP is a federally funded program that provides a tremendous benefit to families right here in Erie County", said Mills.
The HEAP outreach will be administered by the Erie County Department of Social Services and is open to all income-eligible households who are in need of assistance. Interviewers will be able to process 80 applicants and interviews will be conducted on a first come, first served basis.
Applicants are asked to bring the following documentation with them:
- 1 form of ID for all members of the household (birth cert., license, or SS card)
- Proof of residency (one of following: deed, mortgage payment book, rent receipt, landlord statement)
- Proof of monthly income for all HH members received in last 30 days (pay stubs, social security or pension award letters, etc.)
- Current shut-off or disconnect notices, if applicable
- Current checking and savings account bank statement(s), or proof of other resources (stocks, bonds, IRAs, 401k, etc.)
