LEGISLATORS MILLS RAISES OVER $3000 FOR LOCAL LIBRARIES
(East Aurora, New York) – Today, Legislators John J. Mills presented a check to the Orchard Park Library in the amount of $527 to be used to supplement their collections and provide services to library patrons. The donation was the result of a personal fundraising campaign to raise money for libraries in the 13th Legislative District. Mills hosted hot dog roasts at the Aurora, Collins, Concord, Orchard Park and West Falls libraries throughout the summer. Mills used the stipend he receives as Minority Leader of the Erie County Legislature to fund his efforts. The total amount raised for the libraries was $3,076.
"I have been a lifelong supporter of our libraries and am happy to be able to raise money for such an important cause," stated Legislator Mills. "Our libraries are important community assets. The fundraisers not only earned some much needed funds, they also brought people out to the library to see all of the wonderful services that our libraries provide. It’s not just about books anymore."

Mills thanked everyone who stopped by the fundraisers to support the libraries. "The great turnout at these events shows how important libraries are to families in our community," stated Legislator Mills. He also thanked the staff at the libraries who helped promote the fundraisers and for all of their hard work throughout the year.
