2010 Census
The United States census Bureau has begun preparing for the 2010 census. They have already verified addresses on file with the Town and Village. The next step is for individuals to receive questionnaires in the mail. It is very important to return the questionnaire as soon as possible. April 1, 2010 has been determined to be Census day. Census workers may also performing site visits to verify the information during 2009 and early 2010. Listed below are the ways in which the new census numbers will be used. As you can see, accurate numbers are very important to ensure the Town of Newstead and Village of Akron receive their benefits.
