The following rules apply to court operations:
No personal checks accepted, proper attire is required on court nights, no food or beverages allowed in the courtroom, no weapons of any kind allowed in the courtroom, adjournments the day of court will not be granted. The following credit cards are accepted: Mastercard, Visa and Discover, no phone transactions.
The Town Court has two Justices that hold court on Wednesday evenings. Arraignments are handled as required. Court is held at the Town Hall, 5 Clarence Center Road, in the Village of Akron. The Justices are elected to a four-year term.
The Justices handle all legal matters that arise within the Town, including the Village of Akron, such as traffic violations, small claims, and all criminal matters.
