LACKAWANNA MAN WITH 18 PREVIOUS LICENSE SUSPENSIONS/REVOCATIONS ARRESTED FOR DWI IN SPRINGVILLE

July 5, 2009- Village of Springville- 2120 HRS: Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Lackawanna man for Felony Driving While Intoxicated and Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operator.

Deputy Christopher Butera responded to a reckless operator complaint and stopped James Slattery age 34 of Lackawanna for various traffic violations. His investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Slattery for Driving While Intoxicated. Further investigation found that Mr. Slattery's license to operate a motor vehicle was revoked for previous Driving While Intoxicated convictions. Mr. Slattery had 18 previous suspensions/revocations.

Mr. Slattery was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center without bail, pending arraignment in Village of Springville Court. Deputy Butera was assisted by Officer George Avery.
