July 11, 2009- Village of Springville- 0000 HRS- Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrest of a Lackawanna man for numerous charges following an incident with his ex-wife at her Springville residence.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputies Doug Grube; Chris Parisi, George Avery, Shawn Young along with Sgt. Joe Belden responded to a Sunset Lane address in the Village of Springville for a report that 31 year old Carey F. Rehrauer, of Center Street, Lackawanna, had kicked in the door of his ex-wife's residence, beat her boyfriend, (causing a severe head laceration), threw a brick at the boyfriend's truck, and then fled the scene. The incident was witnessed by the ex-wife's two children. After an extensive search of the area, deputies located the subject on Springville-Boston Road near Heim Drive in the Town of Concord. Rehrauer was arrested without incident and charged with Burglary 2nd degree; assault third degree, two counts of criminal mischief 4th degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Other charges are possible following further investigation. The male victim was transported by ambulance to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital for treatment.
Rehrauer was taken to Erie County Holding Center and held for arraignment in the Village of Springville Court.
