THREE DEPUTIES ASSAULTED AT ERIE COUNTY HOLDING CENTER
August 12, 2009- Buffalo. N.Y.- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that a fight at the holding center between 3 inmates and guards resulted in 3 inmates being charged with assault.
Sgt.Lodestro reported that after recreation three inmates refused to lock-in and became physically combative toward the deputies. The Holding Center Response Team ordered the three inmates into their cells when inmate Keith Mixon age 18 took a swing at one of the deputies. Inmates Earl Howard age 18 and Laquann Morgan age 18 also started to fight with deputies. The inmates were subdued and locked down in their cells.
Three deputies suffered minor injuries. The three inmates did not suffer any injuries.
Deputies Scott Piel and Adam Imiolo charged the three subjects with Assault 2nd (PL 120.05-07) and Obstructing Governmental Administration (PL 195.05). They will be arraigned in Buffalo City Court.
