CRASH OF SMALL PLANE ON ZOAR VALLEY ROAD IN TOWN OF CONCORD

August 25, 2009- Town of Concord- 1950 HRS: Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the crash of a small airplane.

The 2 seat single engine Aeronca piloted by Gregory C. Haddad of West Valley experienced engine shut down about 3.5 miles from his hangar and was forced to land in a corn field on Zoar Valley Road in the Town of Concord. The plane sustained minor damage, landing wheels down. Mr. Haddad suffered a bump to the head and bruising. As a precautionary measure, Mr. Haddad was transported to Erie County Medical Center for evaluation.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office and the Village of Springville responded to the scene. The FAA will investigate the cause of the crash.
