DANGEROUS CONTRABAND FOUND IN HOLDING CENTER

Buffalo, New York, September 2, 2009- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Buffalo man presently in custody at the Erie County Holding Center on unrelated charges.

Sgt. Timothy McMahon reported that during a routine cell search conducted by Deputies Joseph Kozlowski and Gregroy Wegryn, 2 6 inch shanks (1 metal, 1 plastic) were found in the cell occupied by Anoine Rookard age 21 of Buffalo.

Deputy Thomas Meredith responded to the Erie County Holding Center and charged Rookard with 2 counts of Possession of Dangerous Contraband in Prison 1st, a D Felony.

Rookard remains in custody at the Holding Center.
