Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard reports that a Buffalo man has been arrested for having assaulted and injured two Holding Center Officers Saturday morning while confined in the facility.
Jeffrey Wisinski, age 37, had been admitted to the Holding Center on Friday, after having been arrested by the Town of Lancaster Police Department. He had been charged by that department with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; criminal possession of stolen property; obstructing governmental administration; escape and fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle.
At approximately 7:50 AM, Deputy Owen Timm observed water coming out from inmate Wisinski's cell. Deputy Timm notified his supervisor, and Sergeant David Webster and Deputy Jason Hussar responded to assist. When they entered Wisinski's cell, he lunged at the officers, striking them and attempted to bite them.
Inmate Wisinski was restrained, and was transported to the Erie County Medical Center for treatment of injuries that he had sustained during the struggle.
Sergeant Webster and Deputy Hussar were both transported to and treated at the hospital for injuries that they had sustained while attempting to subdue Wisinski.
