PERSONAL INJURY AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT

September 18, 2009- Town of Brant- 7:22 PM- Sheriff Tim Howard reports a personal injury automobile accident involving a cyclist which left the bicyclist in critical condition at ECMC.

Erie County Sheriff Deputies responded to the accident on Milestrip Road, just east of Morely Road, in the Town of Brant. A 1998 Dodge Ram pickup, operated by James Hawes of Angola, was traveling westbound on Milestrip Road when he collided with a male bicyclist who was also traveling westbound on the side of the road. The name of the bicyclist is being withheld pending notification of family.

The male bicyclist was flown to ECMC where he is listed in critical condition. Hawes was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Erie County Sheriff's Accident Investigation Unit. .
